Project summary
Following a Rapid Climate Risk Assessment (RCRA) conducted by the GCA, a Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) strategy was identified as a priority intervention to strengthen urban resilience in Djibouti. The GCA is coordinating this study in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank (WB) to identify, prioritize, and design tailored NBS. The objective is to develop a city-wide investment plan, prepare concrete pilot projects for financing, and strengthen the capacities of local stakeholders for NBS implementation, aiming to enhance Djibouti's climate resilience while optimizing costs and benefits.
Tasks carried out by Ecoresil
Assessment of city-wide urban challenges through a series of indicators
Identification of the most relevant NBS to address urban challenges
Evaluation of the costs, benefits, and co-benefits of NBS
Prioritization of NBS opportunities through spatialized multi-criteria and cost-benefit analyses
Implementation of an interactive dashboard for results visualization (via Power BI)
